What is CofC Day?
CofC Day is the College of Charleston's annual day of giving where alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and community members come together to support the College and provide resources for our students, campus, and community. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference and will help advance the College of Charleston!
Q. When is CofC Day?
CofC Day will take place on Wednesday, March 13, at 4:30 pm - Thursday, March 14, at 10 pm.
Q. Who can participate in CofC Day?
Anyone! We encourage all alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends to participate by making a gift through the CofC Day online portal, by phone (843-953-5113), and by sharing their CofC story on social media with the hashtag #CofCDAY.
Q. Why should I give to the College of Charleston?
Gifts of all sizes provide critical funding for CofC and help enhance our students’ experience. Thanks to your support, we are able to preserve our rich history and create a compelling future at the College of Charleston.
Q. What area of campus can I make my gift?
You can make your gift to a variety of programs at the College of Charleston – with over 50 funds on our website, you can choose to give to the area that is most meaningful to you.
Q. Is there a minimum gift amount?
Our minimum gift amount is $5.00. Participation at every level is key to making CofC Day a success and gifts of all sizes are greatly appreciated. When our entire community comes together to support the College of Charleston, big things can happen.
Q. How much of my donation goes to the College of Charleston?
GiveGab retains a 3% campaign management fee from all donations. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). You are given the option to cover the fees and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to the receiving organization. All donations are final and cannot be refunded.
Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?
Yes! Simply visit cofcday.cofc.edu/donate on your mobile device.
Q. What if I have already made a gift to the College of Charleston this fiscal year?
Thank you for your support! You are already making a difference. We appreciate your commitment and encourage you to make an additional gift of any size between March 13 at 4:30 pm and March 14 at 10 pm to help us reach our Giving Day goals. We hope you will be part of this exciting day.
We also need your help promoting CofC Day to others by sharing your CofC story on social media using the hashtag #CofCDAY.
Q. Are CofC Day contributions tax-deductible?
Yes, your gift is tax-deductible. You will receive an email confirmation and receipt of your gift. If you have questions about the tax-deductibility of your gift, please consult with your tax professional.
Q. What is GiveGab?
GiveGab is the secure giving platform that the College of Charleston is using to facilitate raising money, engaging donors, and managing volunteers on CofC Day. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.
Q. Who will receive my contact information?
Only the College of Charleston will have access to your name and email address. This information is used solely to send thank you messages and to notify you of future activities happening at the College.
Q. Can I help promote Giving Day?
Please do! Send an email to classmates, post on your Facebook page, tweet, blog, Instagram story – shout it out and celebrate that it’s CofC Day! You can also promote CofC Day with the materials on our spread the word page.
